The #78 draws its style from Skovby's original eight-legged table, and you can see it in the shape — both the top and the legs are elliptical, which gives it a genuinely light, airy look that sits well even in a smaller room. But there's clever engineering under that slim frame: as it extends, the four legs split into eight, keeping it steady however long it grows, right up to seating fourteen. Two extension leaves are stored under the top, ready to go; add more and it reaches its full length. Light to look at, generous when you need it.

Available in a selection of finishes, in oil or laminate. Two leaves are included and stored under the tabletop; further leaves are available separately, extending the table to seat up to fourteen.

How to Care for Your Skovby #78 Dining Table

General Care guidelines

For regular care, dust with a dry, soft cloth. To clean or remove spills, use a damp cloth with a mild natural soap and dry immediately with a soft, clean cloth. Take care not to saturate the wood and wipe up spills promptly to prevent staining or moisture damage. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and scouring pads. To protect the surface, use coasters, placemats, and mousepads, as excessive heat and repeated daily use can damage the finish. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, heat, and direct sunlight to help preserve the beauty and durability of your solid wood furniture for years to come.

Care guidelines veneer

For regular care, dust with a soft microfibre cloth. To clean or remove spills, wipe the surface with a clean, damp cloth and dry thoroughly with a microfibre cloth to prevent spotting. Clean spills immediately by blotting with a lightly damp cloth, then drying the area completely. As veneer is a thin layer of natural wood, extra care should be taken to avoid scratches, chips, and prolonged exposure to moisture. Use coasters, placemats, tablecloths, and runners to protect surfaces from heat, stains, and abrasive objects. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners, direct sunlight, excessive heat, and leaving items in the same position for extended periods, as this may cause permanent discolouration.
